Jay Hieron is gearing up for the IFL Grand Prix next Saturday. He’s ready to fight. Period. Three times his opponent has changed. Now Jay is set to take on Donnie Liles. Jay’s been training like an absolute maniac. Sparring with fellow 170lb stud Mike Pyle, Anacondas teammate Chris Horodecki (who also fights in the Grand Prix), Karo Parisyan, and Josh Haynes.

After worries that a contractual situation would complicate Jay’s participation in the Grand Prix and numerous opponents dropping out, now we’re 6 days from fight time. Jay is looking great. He tells us he’s ready to scrap in Chicago.
The Grand Prix marks a departure from the IFL’s team format and will allow the fighters to exhibit themselves as individuals rather than part of a team. You’ll get to see Jay’s dynamic personality on display in his choice of shorts and mouthpiece.

October 28th marks the one year wedding anniversary of Randy and Kim Couture. It’s also the three year anniversary of the day they met. How cute is that? They got married on the two year anniversary of the day they met.
We wish them the best and continued success. If you’ve ever met these two, they’re like a high school couple in love.
They had the chance in South Africa to enjoy the honeymoon they didn’t get to take last Fall. This time last year they were getting the gym, the clothing company and nutrition company up running. During their time in South Africa, they were out of cell phone range and got to spend a great, romantic time by themselves. They told us about the wine tastings, a three day safari, Great White Shark dive and trip to the Cape of Good Hope that all sound phenomenal. Randy and Kim both say that if you ever get a chance to go to South Africa, you should definitely do it.

The Xtreme Couture gym is buzzing with fighters gearing up for high profile fights.
Jay Hieron and Chris Horodecki are gearing up for the IFL Grand Prix. Jay fights Pat Healy and Chris has a heavily anticipated rematch with Bart Palaszewski.
Mike Pyle is getting set for Jake Shields in Elite XC on Nov 10th.
Karo Parisyan is readying for a replacement for Hector Lombard. Karo is slated to fight at UFC 78 in New Jersey Nov 17th.
Stephan Bonnar is also in the gym, he faces Eric Schafer at UFC 76 in Cincinatti on Oct 20th.
Josh Haynes just left for Stockton, CA where he fights Steve Heath this Saturday.
Jay White is prepping for his comeback to the cage on Nov 3rd against Corey Salter in Austin, TX.
Wanderlei is going to fight someone on December 29th in Vegas. Though rumors are flying, we can’t say who yet.
The Xtreme Couture Team went 11-0 in the month of September. We’re hoping through hard work and dedication to keep the momentum going through October and November.

We held our very first Xtreme Couture Smoker last week. The crowd of more than 150 people were treated to 8 slugfests. Hats off to all of our competitors who stepped up and put their fears behind them to get in the ring to battle.
Three doctors were on hand to make sure everyone was fit to fight and that things were safe. Mike Pyle did a phenomenal job of refereeing and Joey Varner served as the ring announcer/MC.
MMA prodigies Carlos & Giovanni Ruffo got the night started with an exhibition of their striking and grappling skills. The MMA world is on notice that these two are going to be a force in 12 years.

Our next event is November 3rd. That’s when a team of Xtreme Couture grapplers will go head to head with grapplers from Cobra Kai Jiu Jitsu. The matches will be held under the FILA approved rules created by Jason Townsend. The rules award additional points for high-impact throws and encourage fast paced exciting matches.
Our next boxing/kicboxing event is slated for Saturday December 1st. A team of Canadian fighters will be coming down to take on some of our guys. Plan on heading to the gym for both events. Tickets are $20.
