Neil Melanson – XC Jiu Jitsu Keeps Getting Better

February 24, 2009 · 1 Comment

Our members here at Xtreme Couture know our head Jits guy (Neil Melanson) as a coach who knows the science of  Jiu Jitsu and has a passion to relay his knowledge to his students.  The word is out and Neil continues to take our grappling team to the next level.

Neil has also been working on his new book “Triangles From The Guard” which is scheduled to be out on the bookshelves in the summer of 2009 and is being published by Victory Belt Publishing.

If you haven’t had a chance to train with Neil or meet him please come down to the gym, get a day pass and train with one of the best!

A Little About Neil…….
Neil Melanson is a Catch Wrestler, and leg lock and triangle specialist who trained under Gene Lebell, Gokor, and Karo Parisyan. In addition to being Parisyan’s grappling coach and training partner, and he trains day-to-day students and numerous professional fighters.

As an analytical grappler, he has studied and mastered a number of different guard systems in search of the best way and method to perform techniques. As an instructor, his primary goal is to pass that knowledge on to his students and help them develop their grappling ability and confidence.

Outside of grappling, Melanson was in the Navy for seven years and a Special Agent in the Federal Air Marshal Service doing counter terrorism work for five years. His desire was to compete in MMA competition, but after losing sight in one eye due to Behcets disease, he was unable to follow that path.

Currently Melanson dedicates his time to his students and constantly works on perfecting his teaching skills. Instead of simply focusing on how techniques are done, he also teaches why they work and how they fit into the bigger picture.

Originally from the Boston area, Melanson is a die-hard Red Sox fan. He is also an Elvis fan and a Buddhist.

3 weeks and 4 fights

February 20, 2009 · Leave a Comment

grayThe next few weeks is looking to be pretty hectic for Xtreme Couture.  This coming  Saturday, live from London, our very own Evan Dunham will be fighting Per Eklund in what looks to be an exciting fight for the native Oregonian.  Evan is just coming off a win last month at the PCF show.  He is now sitting at 7-0 making his UFC debut.  Two weeks later in Corpus Christi, Texas, the WEC will debut its first show in the lone star state.  Highlighting the main card is former lightweight champion Rob McCullough at 155, taking on former title contender Marcus Hicks.  Rob has moved his camp too Xtreme Couture to get ready for this fight.  Joining Rob on the card is a Midwest celebrity, former 3x NCAA wrestling champion, Johny Hendricks.  This will be Johny’s 5th fight of his career and second WEC fight.  He will be taking on WEC veteran Alex Serdyukov at 170lbs.

Rounding out the next few weeks of fights will be “The Bully”, Gray Maynard.  Gray, now 7-0, will be taking on fellow UFC veteran and wrestler Jim Miller.  Jim is probably most known for his recent fight with Matt Wiman, taking the fight on only 12 days notice.  They both are very fast paced fighters with great wrestling so it looks to be a very good fight in the works.  We wish everyone the best of luck, and remember, don’t stand on the tracks when the pain trains coming.

A little closer to home, we had George Lopez and Dustin Phillips also win by decision on the “World’s Collide” card at the “Terribles” Hotel and Casino on the Nevada State Line.  To end a  victorious weekend our amatuer team  finished off the winning streak on Sunday feb. 15th.  Ryan Couture,  Nick Fekete  and Kenny Marzolla stopping each of  their opponents. Ryan stopping his opponent in the 2nd and Nick in the 3rd with devastating rear naked chokes. Randy Couture Endorses Health Drink – eXfuze

Randy Couture Endorses Health Drink – eXfuze

exfuze_randy1_web

Many people in the health industry heard about Mona•Vie super juice produced with Acai berry. While this drink had its benefits it wasn’t a product that Randy was 100% behind and would endorse or even use.

Randy was introduced to the product Seven+ (produced by eXfuse) in preparation for his last fight, UFC 91.

eXfuze is a product using 7 key super foods (Gac, Acai, Goji, Noni, Fucoidan, Mangosteen and Seabuckthorn) .

eXfuze uze was proudly worn on Randy’s fight shorts as a major sponsor of the great Couture.

Randy continued to use the eXfuze product called Seven+ after the fight and everyday since and when we asked about the product he said “I’ve been in the nutrition business many years and I am familiar with the ingredients and the benefits they have on the body and I was excited about this product and after using the product I feel better in the afternoon and don’t have the 3pm crash”.

About The Product:

eXfuze originated from the process of creating Seven+. The “eX” represents the extracts that are taken from each botanical, ensuring that only the most nutrition-rich parts are used. “Fuze” designates the “fuzing” of all of the ingredients into a formula that is nutrition dense and second to none – hence the name eXfuze.

Seven+ is a proprietary blend of seven of the world’s finest super foods and a host of other nutrition-rich ingredients (the Plus), creating one of the finest nutritional drinks on the market today. We combine extracts from the following botanicals – Gac, Acai, Goji, Noni, Fucoidan, Mangosteen and Seabuckthorn – along with Pomegranate, Wild Blueberries, Aloe Vera and Concord Grapes. The result is a great tasting, nutrition-rich, economical product that is truly unmatched.

sevenplusbottlenative

eXfuze chose to market Seven+ in sterilized glass bottles to ensure that the product is delivered to the end user in its purest form while eliminating the possibilities of contamination. Research has shown that different types of plastic bottles can develop leeching of ingredients used in production of the container, based on exposure to sunlight, high temperatures and varying pH levels.

Serving size is 0.75 per day and one bottle will last you approximately 30 days.

Where to Buy it:

eXfuze does not sell product directly to any type of retail outlets, however you can purchase it on Randy’s Xtreme Couture MMA web store – http://www.xtremecouture.tv/shop.htm.

One bottle of eXfuze costs $40 + shipping and handling.

Opportunity:

exfuze_randy3_web

eXfuze is a multi-layer-marketing company (MLM) and if you want to become an Independent Distributor under the branch of Randy Couture ( in a sense be a business partner with Randy and other MMA fighters like Tyson Griffin, Jay Hieron….) now is your chance.

Where else can you associate yourself directly with a legend with a start-up cost of under $700. Don’t let the opportunity pass you buy, if you don’t want to be a distributor you at least got to start using the product.

Please contact Valerie Haney (val@xtremecouture.tv) or call 702.407.0898 for information on how you can get involved!
