Xtreme Couture Fighters Sweep at IFL, Kim Wins Amateur Debut

It was a great weekend for Xtreme Couture fighters. Jay Hieron defended his IFL Welterweight Championship as Chris Horodecki and Alex Schoenauer made it a clean sweep for Xtreme Couture Fighters at the IFL show in New Jersey Friday.

On Saturday night, Kim Couture stopped Jessica Cruz in the third round of their bout by TKO. Kim’s fight marked her amateur MMA debut and took place in Portland, OR for the Full Contact Fighting Federation.

IFL – Friday April 4

Jay Hieron defeated Mark Miller by TKO at 2:10 of the 1st round

Chris Horodecki defeated Nate Lamotte by Unanimous Decision

Alex Shoenauer defeated Brendan Barrett by Split Decision

FCFF – Saturday April 5

Kim Couture defeated Jessica Cruz by TKO at 1:43 of the third round.

The London Free Press of Canada did a pair of feature articles today on our fighters. One on Shawn Tompkins and another on Chris Horodecki.

The Free Press compared Horodecki to hockey phenom Sidney Crosby and Tompkins to a preacher.

The Merger: Team Tompkins + Xtreme Couture

This weekend the merger between Xtreme Couture and Team Tompkins will be on display when the IFL airs the opening round of its Grand Prix tournament. Shawn Tompkins took the job of Head Trainer/Gym manager at Xtreme Couture in August. Saturday night Chris Horodecki will be wearing the Xtreme Couture Logo on his shorts along with Jay Hieron and Alex Schoenauer.

Tompkins brought Chris and his other prized students Sam Stout and Mark Hominick into the fold at Xtreme Couture and the three young stars have added to the already impressive stable. All three have incredible kickboxing skills and are true team players, fitting right in with the team first environment at Xtreme Couture.

“I’m thrilled to be here, working alongside and training with Randy Couture, who I hold in the highest regard. It will be an honor cornering with him Saturday night,” says Coach Tompkins. “I’m happy that world will get to see that we are working together. I’m glad to bring my fighters from Canada to create the ultimate fighting system.”
