This Saturday, August 22nd, Tuff ‘N’ Uff brings another installment of its Future Stars of MMA amateur fight series to the Mardi Gras ballroom at the Orleans Hotel and Casino here in Las Vegas. The 19 fight card is packed with some of the top local talent, including eight members of the Xtreme Couture amateur competition team.
The main event of the evening is a 155 lb fight pitting Ryan Couture (Xtreme Couture) against Jimmy Spicuzza (Excel Defense). Ryan is coming off of a disappointing decision loss in March and will be looking to get back on the winning track against the hard hitting Spicuzza.
In a 135 lb title fight, champion Jimmy Jones (XC) looks to retain his belt in a rubber match with Chris Brady (Legends). The two have split a pair of exciting scraps previously so look for this bout to be a crowd pleaser.
A featured attraction on the card will see Rhodes scholar and author of American Shaolin, Matthew Polly make his MMA debut against fellow first-timer David Cexton. Polly has been training here at Xtreme Couture for the past few months in preparation for this bout. His experience training for and competing in his MMA debut will be the subject matter of his next book.
Also on the card are Josh Peasley (XC) vs. Jason Walraven (Stevenson Cobra Kai) at 205 lbs, Daron Cruickshank (XC) vs. Tommy Phelps (Severn) at 170 lbs, Gil Guardado (XC) vs. Ridge Marsden at 155 lbs, and Corey Jeffers (XC) vs. Jerry Shapiro (Cobra Kai) at 135 lbs.
Whether you’re in the Las Vegas area this weekend or not, you can show your support to the next generation of Xtreme Couture fighters. Tickets to the event start at $25 and can be purchased online at www.tuffnuff.tv or in person at the Orleans Hotel and Casion box office.
