FRANK TRIGG SIGNS TO FIGHT IN TEL AVIV, ISRAEL ON NOVEMBER 9, LIVE ON NATIONAL TELEVISION IN ISRAEL.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (September 16, 2010) – Frank Trigg, veteran fighter of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and PRIDE Fighting Championships, has signed an agreement to fight for the International Fighting Championship in Tel Aviv, Israel on November 9, 2010.
The veteran Trigg, a member of the famed Las Vegas, Nevada, based Xtreme Couture MMA fight team and managed by Xtreme Couture Management, will face Roy Neeman in a three-round bout at a catch weight of 180.4 pounds (82kg).
Frank Trigg first started fighting in 1997, and got his first big break in 1999 when he fought in PRIDE and defeated Fabiano Iha via KO due to strikes. Trigg then went on to compete in the World Fighting Alliance, where he held the WFA welterweight title.
After succeeding in Pride and the WFA, Trigg was invited to the UFC, where he made a run at the UFC Welterweight championship. In the course of his UFC title run, Trigg participated in a legendary series of bouts with UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes.
After his run at the UFC title, Trigg went on to compile a 7-2 record over his next nine fights, including wins over Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Kazuo Misaki.
In addition to his success in the cage and the ring, Trigg is widely regarded as one of the best color commentators in the sport of mixed martial arts. He has called fights for Sengoku Raiden Championships, Dream Fighting Championships, PRIDE Fighting Championships and Maximum Fighting Championships.
Having secured his legend status in American and Japanese MMA history, Trigg is now heading to Israel to share with Israeli MMA fans what he is capable of in the cage.
